Band is for everyone!
One of the best things about band is that everyone belongs and everyone has as place. We meet your child right where they are.
Here are a few common questions we get at Encore Ensembles:
“My student doesn’t know how to read music, is that ok?”
Absolutely! We meet your child right where they are. We always work on skills and methods to read music effectively during lessons and rehearsals.
“I never took band as a kid so I can’t help my child musically. How can I help my band student at home?”
Encouraging practice at home is a huge way to help your student learn a new instrument. You can also ask them to teach you what they learned in band. The process of teaching you a new skill will help your child internalize their music learning.
“Can my child participate in sports and music?”
Definitely! Many student musicians are also athletes; the skills developed in music including dedication, commitment, and persistence often helps on the field or the court, and vice versa.
No matter your child’s background, we cannot wait to see them in the band room this fall!
